- Wendy Webber, 6 May 2013
It was a beautiful service. Our good friend, Kelly Helton, spoke on simple lessons learned in Primary for young children and how the simple truths remain the same even as young adults may believe life is more complicated. She bore testimony and gratitude for being adopted from Korea and then raised in an LDS (Mormon) home.
Then since it was Mother's day, all the children age 3 - 11 sang to their mothers (about 100 of them)
Next Tommy played 'Amazing Grace' on his clarinet
“The Lord has promised good to me;
His word, my hope, secures.
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.
My chains are gone,
I’ve been set free,
My God, My Savior has ransomed me;
And like a flood His mercy rains,
Unending love, Amazing Grace.”
Finally Tommy bore testimony of the grace of the Savior available through the atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ,lds.org/scriptures/nt/luke/22:39-46) becoming converted, having a change of heart, lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/36 the blessings of being taught by a righteous mother lds.org/scriptures/bofm/alma/56:45-49) and of the centrality of Christ's love in our lives.
